111. More Help With Credit Card Debt

In order to find help with credit card debt, you’ll need to be ready for the truth.

Not an easy task.

There are alot of folks out there getting burned everyday by a number of deceivers:

> some, not all, credit card companies themselves

> some, not all, companies who say they’ll fix credit scores

> some, not all, companies who say they’ll lower your debt

> some, not all, salespeople that always want you consolidate or apply for yet another loan so they can benefit

The one and only way to save yourself from becoming a victim is easy.

Educate yourself.

Become an informed consumer.

The fact that you are reading this tells me you are on the right track. When you are seeking, researching, questioning, and confirming, you are doing what is right.

I was talking to a friend of mine who tells me that when he worked in a large credit card company, his full time job was to find ways to increase interest rates for card carriers.

He says they always did find ways to do so. They did it by raising rates if someone had a late payment, if the “too much debt” flag went up for that person, or for other reasons too numerous to describe.

He says that the company made a tremendous amount of money that way. And that most people didn’t make a fuss - they just simply kept paying the increases as they were made.

They were not engaged or informed or educated when it came to these things.

They did not seek or even expected help with credit card debt.

He also says he felt really bad at the end of his days and ended up leaving the credit card industry entirely.

His experience was a bad one - yet let’s not get all bent out of shape and think it occurs with all credit card companies.

Remember, the good ones realize they have to take care of their customers and some actually do help with credit card debt. So, please don’t get mad - get informed.

And if you are or aren’t paying off your balance every month, do this: make sure you check your credit card bill in detail every time.

Check your interest rate. Check how much of an interest fee you were charged with (if any).

Don’t like to read monthly statements while you’re relaxing at home? Register and browse through the details on the web, it has never been easier.

If you do see a change in your interest rate or see something you don’t understand, simply pick up the phone and call - make sure you are heard.

Make them realize that you have your magnifying glass out - and you are on the case.

There is no doubt that the best person to help with credit card debt is yourself.
